— To note the importance of developing a careful eye for detail as the reviser of one’s own or someone else’s work product.
— To train the ability to spot and correct errors and to account for a better option.
— To characterize, describe and classify errors.
— To distinguish “authoritative” from “faithful” in legal translation.

— General language issues vs. legal terminology issues.
— Lexical, terminology, collocational, grammar and text construction errors.
— Intralinguistic and interlinguistic errors.
— Error analysis vs. choice of expression. Correcting vs. improving.
— Fossilized errors and the problem of “going against the tide”.
— Tracing errors to their source.
— Hands-on practice at sentence and paragraph level from Argentina’s legal Spanish into U. S. legal English.
